The Alberta Reading Benchmarks are a set of standards for measuring reading in adults. They are adaptable to the diversity of adult learning programs across Alberta and contribute to a more robust foundational learning system in the province. Find out more about what the ARB are and how you can use them for reading instruction and assessment.
Developing the Alberta Reading Benchmarks involved collaboration between The Adult Learning Research Institute, Bow Valley College, and adult literacy, community learning, family literacy, colleges, and government. The benchmarks draw on the expertise of practitioners, experts, and researchers from across Alberta.
